Panmure Gordon today announces the appointment of Robert Naylor as Head of Corporate Finance - Investment Funds. Robert will co-lead the Investment Fund division alongside Phil Hopkins, who is Head of Secondary - Investment Funds.
Robert has over 20 years of experience in corporate finance, including 12 years specialising in investment funds, advising on numerous transactions, including primary and secondary equity fundraisings. He re-joins Panmure Gordon following two years at J.P. Morgan Asset Management's investment trust business. Robert previously worked in the Panmure Gordon investment funds division from 2012 - 2016. Before that, Robert held senior corporate finance roles at Matrix Corporate Capital and Teather & Greenwood. Robert qualified as a chartered accountant at Ernst & Young in 1999.
Robert replaces Paul Fincham, who, following an orderly handover, will in due course leave Panmure Gordon to focus on his classical music career.
Panmure Gordon's investment funds business offers integrated specialist sales, research, market-making and corporate finance expertise for UK-listed funds. The team's principal focus is on primary and secondary distribution supported by in-depth research.
Robert is the latest senior appointment by Panmure Gordon as it delivers on its strategy to support the growth of UK SME and mid-cap corporates and investment companies by building long-term relationships and offering equity or debt in public or private markets.
Ian Axe, Chief Executive Officer of Panmure Gordon, commented: "We are pleased Robert is re-joining our Investment Funds team. The division is a key part of our strategy to retain our Broking heritage while transitioning to become a Merchant Bank. With our experienced and highly regarded team, we are well positioned to extend our position in the investment funds market."
