Panmure Gordon expands consumer sector research

Panmure Gordon has appointed Matthew Webb as a Consumer Staples Analyst, as it continues to build out its research offering. His initial focus will be covering companies in the food, household products and beverages sectors.

Matthew’s appointment is the latest hire at Panmure Gordon as the firm expands its equity research coverage as part of its post-MiFID II strategy. Matthew will report to Bill Dale, who recently joined Panmure Gordon as Director of Research to lead this expansion.

Matthew has almost two decades of experience covering the consumer sector. He joins Panmure Gordon from Macquarie, prior to which he worked at J.P. Morgan Cazenove, where he led the general retail research team for three years and was a beverage sector analyst. He joined J.P. Morgan Cazenove in 2000 from Credit Suisse. Matthew has been consistently highly-ranked in both Extel and Institutional Investor surveys for his coverage of the beverages and retail sectors.

Panmure Gordon has been growing its capabilities under CEO Ian Axe’s leadership. Bill Dale and Matthew Webb are two of the latest hires as part of this expansion.
